Join us in this hands-on session for learning the fundamentals of building and deploying your application in the cloud with IBM Bluemix. See how to leverage the full capabilities of the Bluemix catalog and utilize the micro services available.
We will explore the possibilities to connect a backend systems of record, such as a database on IBM Power, with the cloud integration in Bluemix. The cloud integration service exposes REST APIs to be used by applications in hybrid architectures.
IBM Bluemix is a cloud platform as a service developed by IBM. It supports several programming languages (Java, Node.js, Go, PHP, Python, Ruby to mention a few) and services as well as integrated DevOps to build, run, deploy and manage applications on the cloud. Bluemix is based on Cloud Foundry open technology and runs on SoftLayer infrastructure. If you're a developer, you now have a hand in creating the future. Bluemix offers you what you need to push your ideas into the present. Bluemix provides data storage and integration services to develop and deploy hybrid IT architectures — with components in both cloud and non-cloud environments. Enabling secure connectivity among apps and data sources on-premises or in the cloud, Bluemix-hosted apps have access to cloud infrastructure that supports enterprise requirements such as scalability, performance, availability, and security.
